EPS foam board material is polyethylene resin, which is a crystalline polymer. It has a linear structure. When the heat is melting, the force between the macromolecules is very small. The temperature range of the high elastic state is very narrow. When the resin melts, the viscosity of the melt is low, so the decomposition gas of the foaming agent is not easy to maintain in the resin, making the foaming process difficult. Control; PE crystallinity, rapid crystallization, from melt to crystalline state to release a lot of crystallization heat, coupled with melt PE heat capacity, cooling to solid state takes a long time, is not conducive to gas in the foaming process to maintain. Its advantages lie in:
1 small density, good flexibility, elastic and independent bubble structure.
2 the thermal conductivity is small, generally 0.028W/m. K.
3 water absorption is very small, (% (V/V0.10)).
4 good flame retardancy and meet domestic fire product standards.
5 excellent resistance to low temperature and aging.
6 acid, alkali, salt, oil and other organic solvents, excellent corrosion resistance.
7 construction is simple and labor intensity is low.
8 the appearance is clean, smooth and harmless.
9 dimensional stability and reusable.
The drawback lies in:
1, UV resistance is poor, that is, the aging is fast, because polyethylene closed cell foam board raw material is polyethylene particles, polyethylene itself in the direct sunlight is easy to aging, the same closed cell foam board also has such shortcomings, for a long time, it is easy to crack.
2, the smell is strong and pungent.
3, low flame retardant coefficient, poor sealing performance, easy adhesion with wall.
4, too expensive.
